Interviewer – Story:

Interviewer-story, Today before the interview, I spent some minutes in looking at the candidate’s CV. It was quite decent, attractive, and perfect.

But I noticed that he had a 1-year gap on his resume.

And during the interview, I asked him the reason for the gap.

I took care of my mother who has been admitted in the hospital and spent as much time with her as I could, before I had to say goodbye, he said.

Finally, when he showed the medical certificates, I simply asked him to keep that inside as that’s his personal thing.

We can always start a new job, but we can never get our time back with the people we love.

I then said that he will get a chance to work with us.

Because, a person who knows when to leave a job to be there for their family is the type of person I want to work with.

Sometimes it’s just some emotions who makes the call,

And yes result varies person to person but the best fact is “ You Never Know “ what’s the result going to be.

Freshers, A statement I’ve seen in LinkedIn,

“Freshers are not freshers these days. Half of them nowadays are more experienced in than you were at your time.

Approximately 1 month training is enough for them to understand company’s work culture.

Stop hiring them for just 20k which is nothing when one is migrating and is living in metropolitan city.

Think about how he’s going to live, eat and save in this expenses world before declaring the CTC.”

 

Advices to the Freshers:

Don’t compare yourself with other’s, because each individual has a different perspective and different strategy in approaching the things.

  • Try to concentrate on communication skills as equal as technical skills or Subject knowledge.
  • During the projects, make sure you write your own code.
  • Even if you are doing repeated project as well, take a good reference and learn how things are working irrespective of thinking about a raw input and a successful output.

Explore the professional path of career:

  • Go for some internships, that helps in building some self confidence and you will expose to some real-time working environment.
  • Maybe you get paid less or you won’t get paid anything, but you will get to know, what corporates expects from their employees.
  • Explore the companies, what are service based and what are product based?
  • What kind of services the service based company is providing and what kind of products the product based companies are manufacturing or providing?
  • Use LinkedIn, Glassdoor and Indeed effectively, you will be able to find the reviews of former, and ex-employees of the organisation, salaries, benefits etc.

Before you step into full time career, make sure you know your potential and your worth.
